The Italian Association of Epidemiology (AIE) is organising the course "Field epidemiology for humanitarian crises: an introductory course" with the aim of improving the ability of NGOs health personnel, epidemiologists, or other professions to interpret and use public health information in humanitarian crises with epidemiological tools and methods. It also draws attention to the importance of these topics being part of the methodological background of epidemiologists.
The course is oriented towards concrete humanitarian crisis situations with examples from the lecturers' field experience and relevant literature.
The course will be structured in three phases:
Online sessions
15 January to 9 February 2024: six sessions, 2 hours each, 16:00-18:00
Self-study
12 to 23 February 2024, 8 hours
Residential course
26 to 28 February 2024 –SERMIG, Torino (Italy)
